I bought a few comics lots over the weekend on a whim, spent around £30 and now have (almost) nowhere to place the odd 100~ I got...

Got a few decent adds to my collection, a couple of duplicates I might flog, a decent condition Avengers #314 too.

Now to try and stop getting carried away from spending more money... Has anyone else found some sweet finds via eBay?

Once in awhile I found a good deal but that was years ago and never a lot. I rarely bought lots. I rarely buy anything on eBay now as shipping is way too much. Often more than the book.

99% of my buys are on eBay. So sure I've found some nice deals here and there. Trying to stay in my budget gets hard at times when you find a good seller that grades well and has lots of nice books being uploaded weekly.

I'll tell ya, I've bought a couple of long box lots on eBay, and it's always junk someone is just trying to unload. Then, on the other hand, I've got steals on single issues. I think it's very hit and miss and flat out luck on the right day.

Do they ship to the UK? Can't seem to find if they do on their website.

Well after buying a few long box auctions you now know they are just as you said, mostly junk you didn't want in the first place. With time and patience there are good deals to be had all the time.

i like to go into my local comic shop and purchase a box of 100 comics for $20 and sort through them. not all of them come out fantastic looking, but i find a few goodies hidden away and normally they do come in very decent condition. i instantly sleeve and back the ones worthy of packaging. i also go looking for specific items as well, so my collection does not consist of just extras or left overs of another's collection. i also prefer looking for the older comics because the newer stuff is just not as appealing to me like it used to be. i don't mind finding a new series and not all the art work is terrible, i just miss the paper pages and the appeal the age of the comic holdssmile it's a nostalgic thing, lol, plus it's what i collected when i started over 20 years agosmile in short, there is nothing wrong with buying comics in lots, just double check if its from a private collection or a shop. shops tend to keep their stuff in better condition, unless you find a fickle collectorsmile

Friends

If I might offer a shameless plug, You should buy from me here on CPG and forget eBay.

Okay - I am up to any offer at about 70% - 75% of guide price or so and I will ship to the UK.
Not a shop and I have only a few thousand comics - so I don't have everything - but I have a good selection of 1970's comics and plenty of issues from last ten years I bought new that are in great condition - mostly DC.

Heck, I will and have shipped to Australia!

Plus I have money back guarantee - try finding that on eBay.

With the way eBay and PayPal works for buyers, it is easy to return books and get a refund. Never had problems getting my money back.

Here's a lot I purchased last week: http://www.ebay.com/itm/300-COMIC-BOOKS-Mixed-Lot-BRONZE-AGE-and-etc-/282087875994?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&nma=true&si=eqf2VRa%252Bm5%252FBtlAVykd05pa2hMg%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

I noticed a few decent books(TMNT 5-6, UXM 251, and couple of others). The cost was about 3 for $1, which isn't too bad. I figured I could sell enough at $1 a piece to at least make my money back, but I still thought maybe I overpaid a bit. I almost didn't bid, thinking it might get relisted at lower price, but I WTF moment and put in the opening bid.

The comics arrived yesterday and I had a few nice surprises. A few that stick out in my memory are a black bagged Superman #75, which can be seen in one of the photos, but I don't think I noticed before I bid, not seen, though are an X-Force #8 with a Deadpool card, a Captain America Annual #8, and best of all... a mid-grade copy of New Mutants 98.

So I think this purchase will work out quite well. ≈(^ᴥ^)≈

Atomic Avenue is like ebay in that there are dealers selling comics. Dealers are from all over the world, including the UK. They will ship to you.

I have my first encounter with ebay lot here in the next couple of days. Just bought 2 100 lots for 23 bucks a piece.

But, I have gotten one off of Amazon that had a X-Force with Deadpool's second appearance that is worth about as much as I paid for it.

Today Just bought a 200 lot for 40 bucks off a local guy on craiglists. Which didn't have anything great but did have a lot of comics from the 90's that I did not really buy, cause I was a kid and didn't have the money, to get into. Like a bunch of Ghost Rider, Morbius, and Image comics.

I try to find them cheap as can be that way I am not disappointed for what I paid, and it also opens me up to read some stories that I might not have otherwise been able to get in to.
