Hi all,
I was at a show in Greenville SC and decided to have George Perez sign my copy. I had CGC verify, and the Verifier noticed that the little white block (top right) where the price etc. goes was completely blank. It has since been returned, graded a 7.0 with no mention of the oddity - does anyone have any idea what this might be? An error, variant? Thank you for any help/guidance - Cappy66

I assume you mean the first issue of the second series in 1987 not 1977?
Anyway, not sure what the blank price box indicates but it could be that back in the day this was one of the books redistributed in pack at grocery stores. Though I could find no indications that they did this with this particular issue.

This is the one - notice the white price-box. I like the idea about the packs; but also could not find out if they did that. Thank you for the response Oxbladder - hope all is well

So on your copy the price/number box in the upper right has nothing at all in it? Not even an issue number?
I have a few dealers here that i could ask if they have seen that and what it could mean or if it was, in fact, a printing error. Hopefully I will remember to ask them this weekend and get back to this thread when I find out.

Not that I have found - I should get it back today or tomorrow will post picture of actual cover. I was surprised the CGC grader's notes were mute on the subject.

I still haven't found anyone that can explain what the empty price box means but I am still working on it.
