Trying to make sense of the Sandman collected editions (trade paperbacks). Look at the first book, “Preludes and Nocturnes." The list on the trade paperback tab is thus:

Issue 1 is the cover with the stack of books and the free CD inside.

Issue 1A is the same except the free CD and is noted, “2nd print.”

Issues 1B, 1C, 1H and 1M lack cover scans and are noted as, “3rd print, 4th, 9th and 14th.”

Issue 1N is the cover with the yellow face and red hand and is noted as, “new printing (2010).”

I offer a more logical listing:

Issue 1 issue the cover of the face stairing back at the reader and has “INTRODUCED BY F. PAUL WILSON.” This was first published by DC Comics in 1991.

Issue 1A is the cover with the stack of books and the free CD inside. This was first published by DC Comics / Vertigo in 1993.

Issue 1B is the purple cover with the book at the upper right. It was first published in 1995 by Vertigo.

Issue 1C is the cover with the yellow face and red hand. It was first published in 2010 by Vertigo.

I know I am not adressing subsequent printings (like 2nd, 3rd, etc.) but at least this proposal gets the four common trade paperback covers listed. Thoughts, anyone?
