A rip of that size would usually have it at Good at best. 2.0, 1.8... that sort of thing.

As mentioned, they are good reader copies or run fillers.

If you want to get a good idea of grading, there are tutorials on YouTube, but I find that this is a handy tool:
http://www.e-bigs.net/freetool.php
You just enter the flaws and it will give you a grade. Might not be the most accurate, but it will be close. I occasionally have to disagree with the rating, but it's usually changing a 3.0 to a 2.0, sort of thing.

That cover tear on the #2 is brutal, but the #1 isn't too shabby. Probably not worth slabbing, but would make a great reader copy for fans.

I have a a nearly complete Marvel Conan The Barbarian collection;
I recently was able to start upgrading some issues, one of these is issue #2.
I was gifted many years ago both #1 & 2 by a friend, but I have no idea what (low) grade would be correctly applied to these two issues.

I did look at the grading guide here before posting this.

My #1 is complete, and in pretty good shape, but it had water damage in the past, so it has some slight darkening on the pages, and they have that 'hard' feel.

My #2 is complete, the inside pages are great, but the front cover has a large rip, the spans across maybe 2/3 of the cover's (top to bottom) length.

Since both of these issues are complete, and missing nothing, I would appreciate some opinions as to approximately what they might be graded.

(i will upload photobucket images shortly)

Thanks for any help that can be offered!
edited by soundjunky on 1/10/2016
