Hello all,

I am not sure if this has been asked recently but I am sure it has at some point in time.

I recently went to a comic book store to look for some back issues and they had told me that they no longer send out for grading but that CGC would be more valuable than a CBCS would later on down the road.

I would like to know the opinions. Is it really worth me paying $40 in membership fees just to send a comic off to CGC to have their name attached to it?

Or is CBCS just as good and on the rise?

CBCS appeals more to me due to the pricing and not having to pay for a membership just to get my comics graded.

Please help me decide where to ship the first comic I will have graded.

Thank you!

My understanding is that you can submit yourself to CGC through a partnered dealer http://www.cgccomics.com/services/Submitting.aspx .

I feel that CBCS is just as good as CGC. There are people who however will still pay a slightly higher premium for CGC but over time that gap seems to be closing. Because CBCS is a slightly cheaper service, I think they are both good choices for submitting a book to be graded.

I would add if you don't live in the US CBCS is brutal on return shipping (this was back in april last year so may have changed since) got a shipping quote from CGC they would have charged me 40% of what CBCS charged me.

Found the service outside of that excellent and was really happy with the books though smile
