The Android app scan is to add them to your collection. It's not to add your scan to our database.

A barcode is much more basic than scanning the entire cover with image and character recognition. The accuracy rate for scans that don't have a glare is extremely high. Plus, barcodes are often repeated on dissimilar books.

I got the Comics Price Guide (CPG) Android application and see I can scan covers to add to collection. Is that just to add them, or you want to use scans? Mine won't be good: all in bags or a few encased (so you'd get some glare/reflection). Can I use it to just add? Wouldn't barcode be easier for comics in last 30 to 35 years?
edited by dchmelik on 7/15/2026
edited by dchmelik on 7/15/2026
