Shot in the dark, looking for a ghost book-
I've spent the last year trying to hunt down every issue of X-Statix (2002-2004) in NEWSTAND. These are very easy to come by in direct edition, so before you say you have the book please read the post.
The DIRECT editions of these books all say DIRECT EDITION above the UPC. The NEWSTAND editions simply have a barcode. This is the only way to tell which is which.
This website does not yet even have listings for the newsstand editions from this time period, and neither do most online comic catalogs so I've come to find out.
What I discovered is that only issues 1-16 of the entire run (1-26) were released in newsstand. Starting with 17 (after the Princess Diana controversy in 13 started to affect the book) it seems X-Statix only became available in comic shops. If you are able to disprove this theory with a copy of 17 or up in NEWSTAND that would also be of interest to me, but I don't think they exist.
Almost all of these are hard to come by, trust me, I've spent the last year searching every eBay listing and checking the big online stores like Mile High regularly. Issues 8,9 and 14 were some of the hardest to come by, I ended up finding them in lots of other random books. Most people don't realize these books are scarce.
But the one white whale that I can NOT find, is X-Statix #1 NEWSTAND edition.
The direct edition of this book has the UPC on the BACK cover. According to Mile High Comics catalog, the NEWSTAND has the UPC box on the FRONT cover. They do not have one for sale obviously, or I wouldn't be here begging you to check your collections.
If anybody has a copy of this book that they are willing to part with please message me so I can complete the run!

I am not able to help you there, but I did get all the newsstands available added to the data base, still need the covers for 13 and 14 newsstand editions. Nothing for issues 17 on

found 13 & 14, submitted those. Dr, the 14 is on e*ay still, comiccollectorlive shows sellers with apparently stock photos of #12-16 newsies, so not sure if the sellers actually have those. no luck on #1 news tho. good luck on the hunt.

Just approved those two.
So we have cover scans for 1-16 newsstand
Just no idea on 17-26
Could be a fun hunt finding those, if they even exist

I don't see 7,8,10,12 newsstands in the CPG listing, but drsettleton said he would scan his and submit them. GCD doesn't have them. Pretty sure there's no newsies of 17-26, else some would show up somewhere by now.
Ben, can you get the yupped once U titles in Marvel on the verify data page approved so the rest of the U's will load? it just sits when clicked on, I let it go for 20 minutes once, and it never loaded, and glorkar tried too. there's a ton of Uncanny X-Men in there I already yupped before it got too full to work somehow. already told bryan too. thanks.
