These days, the publication date for the big publishers is almost always later in the year than when they release the book.
Take a look at the indicia and you'll see the October date listed.
It doesn't make sense to me, but that's how it is.

The release date and the published date have always been different by months. This isn't anything new, weird but not new

Batman 200 from 1968

On sale in January, 1968

Published date March, 1968
