Just picked up my copy of Batman 120 today and noticed that my cover is different. Mine has note about the backup story in the top right corner and more creators listed in the top left.

Yeah interesting, GCD has your cover. I didn't add it as a variant but wrote the info in the "Facts" line, you can see it here. https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/batman/120/phwqhrx

Just out of curiosity, where did the images in the database come from? Are they scans from cpg? Or are they from an online source? I'm just wondering if they were preproduction images. edited by glorkar on 2/3/2022

During the 11 years that Jesse handled new books, all of the scans were from him. He physically scanned in each book. Insanely time consuming but he did it with gusto. In the last few months we have Scott and a few other admins working on new books, so there are some subtle differences now.
In general, it is our policy to use production scans only. We don't want preproduction scans since it doesn't match collector's books. Regarding this specific issue, I'm not really sure. Both versions are shown on eBay, usually pre-production scans don't have UPC. R

just looking through ebay it seems like the listings without the 'Gotham academy adventure' look like 'stock' photos where the ones with the extra wording are actual pictures of books with the spine and edges in the image.
