hello I am new to selling and I just got my first offer. I live in Canada and I am only shipping within North America. What is a reasonable fee for shipping to offer to the buyer?

I'm in Canada as well - in my experience, shipping prices depend on weight and destination. I can give you a general idea of what it would cost to ship to the USA: 1-3 books: $6-8 CDN 4-10 books: $15-20 CDN anything more than that you are looking at boxes/parcels, so about $25-30 CDN
Shipping costs have jumped significantly and are really expensive these days.
Of course, if you are shipping within Canada, costs are much lower: 1-3 books: $5 CDN 4-10 books: $10-12 CDN 10+ books: $15-25 CDN (depends on weight)
Hope this helps.

as favabeans says, shipping goes by weight, distance, and sometimes size. Canada post has a pdf file with the rates, as well as an online calculator for individual packages. for the rates (you need a pdf reader to view it) https://www.canadapost-postescanada.ca/cpc/doc/en/support/prices/consumer-prices.pdf you can print out just the shipping cost pages to the US so it's handier.
this is the calculator: https://www.canadapost-postescanada.ca/information/app/far/business/farLetter?execution=e1s1
that way you can determine the exact cost for the buyer, plus insurance if desired. or you can charge a flat free for 1 plus X dollars for each additional comic once you get a feel for costs, but I find that way costs the buyer more overall, so I prefer to charge exact shipping. then there may be customs fees the buyer will have to pay. shipping between countries ain't cheap these days, and then there's the forms etc, so take all that in, and try to sell as much within Canada as you can.
