I noticed that on my copy of Amazing Spider-man #601 Scott Campbell cover where the bar code box is there is a black strip. Normally within this strip is either the title of the comic ie. Amazing Spider-man or Direct Edition. However in this one it says Sensational Spider-man. Is this an error being that there is a "Sensational Spider-man" series? If so does it effect the value of the comic? Please let me know.

Definitely an error. I scoured "the bay" and found a couple others like it. It's strange because they are both CGC'd but there is no remark about it.
Couldn't find any in the sold listings so I wouldn't use these as good price comparisons.

No it is not an error it is the newsstand edition

It'd still be an error though, even if it effects all newsstand variants, since it has the wrong title printed there. It just wouldn't add any value.

it still not an error Marvel did this with several different newsstand titles it was intended to promote cross titles at the time.

Really? I mean, I guess it gets you thinking about the other series. It's odd though. I mean, "advert for other stuff we sell" is not what I think of when I see that.
