I have a seller (I have the name) that accepted two books BUT then tells me he is also putting the SAME books on E-Bay because he said he can get more money...
Now is this or is this not a NO NO especially when you accepted the offer days earlier??
I need somewhere to report this ass clown because this is getting OLD newbies selling their books on 10 sites accept offers (Like a contract) then disappearing...This needs to stop...
Can/will anything get done? It takes a couple of jack offs that ruin this hobby....

I hope it gets figured out. I've been reluctant when I see no feedback for the seller.

I sell exclusively on CPG. Check out my inventory! */end of shameless plug*
As a seller, I try to stay away from looking at Ebay sell prices, as those can be way over priced. I tend to stick to CPG and Overstreet as guides.
Good luck Taskmaster in your dealings!

Taskmaster, You know my email if you have a problem. I don't think you should publically do this to a seller and then place another offer on his or her book. They might decline your offer because of this.
I've sent a message to Willrice explaining our expectations for sellers. He has the right to decline an offer but if he accepts it, then it should be fulfilled. As we have spoken many times before, the transaction is between you and the seller. Ideally, you two can work it out without us stepping in, since we don't take a piece of the transaction.
This text is autogenerated from our system.
"The seller has indicated that this transaction is past due and has requested to cancel the transaction. Seller Input: Due to inaction, this item has been removed from your limbo box and the seller has relisted it for sale. We track all cancellation requests and members who fail to use our system properly may have their ability to bid on books revoked. If you have any questions, please contact us."
We have decided to change the text to be less provocative. Especially since this issue wasn't due to anything you did. Ron

Unfortunately, you are only hearing Taskmaster's part of the story - which he's leaving some key points out - so let me help paint the picture for him -
On 7/14 an offer for a comic book was accepted by me from Taskmaster for $500. He overbid another person which was only at around $20. I accepted and sent him the details to respond. I received nothing, so I cancelled the order and he then responds saying I didn't send him anything. So I responded on 8/4 -
Hey Taskmaster, After I accepted your offer, I asked what your email address was, so I could send you an invoice, but never received anything. So I was under the impression you weren't interested any longer. My mistake. It's back up.
I tried to do the right thing. Then he does the same thing with the same comic book a month later - I have a bid on it, and he overbids at $500, and when I accept it, he tells me it's not worth that much, and tells me that I have to send it to him for $25 since that's all it is worth.
Yes, I sell on Ebay, butif I sell something here before I do on Ebay, I take it down. I thought I was always fair and have bought and sold here for a few years now. This is sad that someone can ruin your name because he was unable to threaten someone to give away a comic. He says it's a NO NO to not accept a bid - I agree. But I didn't do that, I accepted his bid at $500 and he didn't pay, but instead tried to negotiate after the bid was accepted. Isn't that a bigger No No??
I am just providing the full story here and will not be responding again, I just wanted to share what happened - since I'm an "ass clown" because I wouldn't be taken advantage of.

This is why I don't sell online anymore. To be honest, I don't think messageboards should be used for private disagreements. Not complaining. I can easily skip this thread in the future.

I see a LOT of sales go through this site, I rarely sell here (though I have bought a few times), but I can see the bulk on the front page.
I'm sure there are issues here and there but it seems like, for the most part, it's pretty smooth. Only person I ever really see complaining is represented on this thread.

There are several Gold members who sell something every day. Overall it is very smooth.
People will send me an issue like a seller not responding and I will contact them. Or a buyer doing something wrong and I deal with them. 99.9% of the time it's a great place to buy and sell.
On occasion, I step in and ban an account, like the lady who was trying to sell a reprint of Action 1 as real. "Yeah, I'm sure you picked up this Action Comics 1 at a flea market for $20" Ron

That was the whole point I made offers on both $2 books WAY before they went up then when I give a crazy amount they get accepted...Sorry but I'm right if I'm going by YOUR prices and you don't accept offers unless someone bids $500 on a $2 book then your playing games...This doesn't happen too much but when it does it's stupid and childish accept the offer and move on like an adult..

It's the sellers prerogative if they want to accept an offer or not. And when someone offers an insane amount of money, it would be silly not to accept. However, it's absolutely ridiculous when the person who offered the money says, "Oh, never mind. I don't really want to pay you that much. I was just hoping that it would start a conversation and I could get it for less than I said I was willing to pay". That's the sort of behavior that should get called out.

Nope not like that he was HOPING those two books were worth alot of money which turned out were not...So if you have a book for $2 and it's what you want you going to let it lapse without an acceptance or denial??? That's dumb 99.9% of the people here accept the offer THEY put on the book THEY own (See where I'm going?)
Funny thing is you defend him for NOT responding to an offer that HE set he it's OK to accept some crazy one...WOW! Your in the minority...sorry edited by Taskmaster on 9/23/2021

So he has a book listed at $2. You offer $2. He ignores you. You offer $500. He accepts. You reneg and say you'll only pay him $2.
I get that he had poor communication on ignoring the initial offer and not just rejecting it. But the way you acted was just as bad imo. If a seller ignored me, I would just go to a different seller. You were trying to start drama with the second offer. It appears you succeeded.

If a comic is listed at a price and an offer is received at that price the Seller DOES NOT have to accept it, seems Taskmaster is expecting this to happen. Many things could influence this, what if a comic was listed years ago and has become hot and the value soars, is the expectation that a seller has tabs on their full inventory and adjust prices in a heartbeat??! To offer a stupidly over the odds amount to get it accepted and to then use this as an opportunity to say ' actually i'm not paying that' is completely ludicrous. I would argue that you made an offer that was accepted so you better dig deep in your pockets and honour the sale!
Btw, please don't make any offers on my books.
Thanks
Joe

Oh I won't because you don't have anything I want.... you people still don't get how the system works around here do you??
If the offer is not accepted that means a seller is not on here and the mod's can get if that person is active (That's what happens in these cases)
BUT that wasn't the case so I call BS on him "Showing up" for a $500 offer on a $2 book..that proves that he saw the others and instead of doing what's right and accepting OR denying for whatever reason so it was funny after all those months of NO response to his own god damn offer that he sees the $500 offer an accepts it....
You really want to go there? Go right ahead I'm doing what is implied on how it's done...
Oh and HONOR the sale like he HONORED the system here? Nice try edited by Taskmaster on 9/23/2021

Taskmaster -- just go away. You are just embarrassing yourself and making it clear to anyone who reads your posts about sellers who the real problem is in the transactions. Ron should ban you from the site for your childish behaviour (which he has called you out on multiple times).

Looking ar Taskmaster's posting history, it is painfully obvious that his sole purpose is to agitate and annoy anyone and everyone. He has the debating skills of a two year old. Ron has been way too patient with him. Very admirable, but Taskmaster's presence is a detriment to other users, to Ron and to the hobby in general.
