i was recently going through some boxes i had in storage in the back of my closet and found a bunch of comic books i forgot i had. what i am looking for are the best storage options as far as bags and backing boards. the majority of them are in are great condition, have never been read, have just been in storage since they were purchased and i am wanting to protect them,

second, which grading service would be the best to have them graded, if was to go that route. any information and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

thank you

3rd party graders-
CGC costs the most takes months and months...but if you sell the books CGC gets you the most money most of the time. Other 3rd party graders are out there like CGCS and a new one called EGC or something like that...PGX is one I personally stay away from.

Storage-If your books are raw you can get bags and boards and put them into a box.
Bags/Boards-many different types of bags and boards...the higher the quality the higher the cost, just be sure to get the right size of boards and bags so they fix your comics properly. You can buy all this stuff online or try your local comic shop.
Boxes-Again lots of choices here...Cardboard or plastic....BCW or Hotflips might get you started...If you watch some youtube videos on comics you can even get a discount code for these two for 10 percent off if you find the right one....regie collects, comics with bueller, economics and comics, Jernos comics are just a few on youtube.

Another thing to consider on the 3rd party grading besides leadtime and cost/quality/resale value would be the value of the book, so just take some time to figure out the cost of getting the book graded vs worth...make sure it right for you....Also consider getting the book "pressed" it is an additional service that most of these grading companies offer for a cost but you can also find other Pressers who "should" send your books right to your grading service of choice after they press it...Pressing involves cleaning the book and pressing it flat..It does not fix color breaking creases and much other stuff. You can read more about pressing on CGC's website. Good Luck.

If the books have been stacked in a closet there are good and bad things associated with that. The good part is that they will have great coloring since they were kept in the dark. The bad is that if they were stacked without bags and boards the spines are probably rolled. (spine roll shows more of the white from the back cover as the book shifts)

Google local comic shops near you and buy some bags and boards or go online and buy them.

CGC and CBCS are the two main grading companies. Both will do a great job of preserving the book but CGC tends to be worth more but also costs a bit more.

Pressing or cleaning - Both grading company do this but the lead time is usually months. A customer recently said it was 4.5 to 5 months wait. We press and clean books here at Comics Price Guide with a 2 week lead time. I posted about it on the announcement forum. I hope that helps.
