Some additional info for those new to 3rd party grading... CGC will do a more thorough resto check on most comics that they think require it than what the video shows. They use a blacklight to check for color touch too, and will use higher magnification if trimming or pieces being added is suspected, and will look at the spine inside for glue repair, and other techniques.
Multiple graders check each book then arrive at a consensus grade, although they've gotten coy now with how many look at them, used to be 3 plus the pre-graders who do the page counting. This page on their site gives another overview: https://www.cgccomics.com/grading/grading-process/
They say more grading videos will be coming, so you can bookmark the youtube page and follow along. They have a forum for Grading and Restoration questions too, with some pinned topics with all kinds of good info. Learn much, you can. https://www.cgccomics.com/boards/forum/27-comic-book-grading-and-restoration-issues/ edited by collectibleshop on 10/9/2020

Just an FYI, we allow links to other sites as long as they are not a competitor and it's in the proper area. For example, we don't want people posting their auction links in other areas outside the "comic auctions" forum. If you have a set of eBay auctions that you want to post in the comic auction forum, great. If you want to provide a link to grading tips, great. CGC and CBCS are in no way our competition so any of their links are fine. I hope that helps. R

CGC has put up another grading video, this time on restoration checking. As before, this is a very general overview, and it takes more 'tests' to determine other types of restoration. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sn4SYj7URWU
