CGC holds their prices better than the rest of the grading companies...You can look at auctions for same books with different grading companies and the prices are almost always higher for CGC. One reason Trust and reputation. I bought a Giant size X-men 1 8.5 from PGX and after like 8 years or so I sent it to CGC and had it cracked and slabbed...I even had CGC press it before. I'm not trying to advertise for CGC, but just sharing my experience....My book came back a 8.0 and is is nice but fell .5 from what PGX said....so lost value and this is one reason they are cheaper and sell for less. CBCS has a better rep than PGX but If you sent it into CGC it might get a lower grade too....maybe even higher? Ok...here's the data you asked for....Cheers!

ASM 129 8.5 restored CBCS sold on Ebay 6/2017 for 710
ASM 129 8.5 restored CGC sold on Ebay 12/2019 for 875
ASM 129 8.5 restored CGC sold on Ebay 7/2018 for 724
ASM 129 8.5 restored CGC sold on COMIC LINK 9/2015 for 309

Thanks Ron. So based on that answer, I guess 900 wasn't too bad to pay?

Restored books are so difficult to price and we don't delve into it. For an ultra key issue like ASM 129 the value would be closer to a non-restored book. Congrats on adding such an important book to your collection
Ron

I recently purchased an ASM 129. It is a 8.5 restored, graded by CBCS.
I thought I might be able to get the restoration off of it, but turns out it is minor touch up, but has bled through.
Just wondering what you think it would be worth, want to see if I got a decent deal.
