Thanks. I'll check out www.irfanview.com. As for the scan uploads, I think I read you can scan your cover in and display either the stock scan or your scan for purposes of your collection alone - you can then show any prospective buyer what the cover actually looks like. Anyway, I did nothing different, and all of a sudden it started working. I guess it could be that I had to go from Bronze to Silver once I hit the 50 comic limit so maybe that had something to do with it after all.

Edited: I just tested a pretty ragged cover and it went up ok. Thanks again.
edited by ca2fl2011 on 7/22/2020

I didn't think they accept scans with that kind of damage on the cover.

Are you on a PC?

If so, download Irfanfiew for free. Download the program, then download the plugins exe file to get full function for the program.
It will crop, resize, rotate, convert.... Whatever you want. You can even make a screensaver. Heck, it'll even play MP3 &
OGG files.

www.irfanview.com

No program has been used by me more in the past 23 years.

In order to reduce the size, I imported from the scanner into Picasa. That produces a .bmp file that CPG doesn't recognize. I used an online bmp>jpg conversion app that reduced the file to 632kb. Now, CPG won't load the cover - I get a failed message. Any ideas? I've attached the 632kb file fyi. Thanks. (I should add that I signed up for the Bronze/free membership - is that why, maybe?).
edited by CA2fl2011 on 7/19/2020
edited by CA2fl2011 on 7/19/2020

Rescan the cover with less DPIs
