For about a year or so as the transition from newstand to direct began in earnest, some direct issues had a barcode that was marked out by the publisher. Should we be entering a UPC code for those issues, or treat them as if they do not have a barcode. The mark through makes them unreadable to scanners.
example: Captain America issues 234-242

For now I will be ignoring these specific variants, but I can always go back and add UPC codes if deemed necessary.

Great question. I've seen those issues where they drew a diagonal line over the barcode then a few issues later added pictures or text in that box. Anyway, continue to ignore those issues since the barcode scanner cannot read them anyway.
