I was searching around in eBay for a graded copy of Dark Nights Metal #2 and ran across a few listings I found strange. The labels have a grade and white pages but otherwise blank. I have a feeling this is a scam and was wondering others thoughts on this? I wrote messages to two of the sellers and one has responded saying it was glare from the pic. I'll let you folks be the judge. These are screenshots of the pics they have on the listings. Edit: when trying to attach both pics from two sellers it was saying it was already attached so does that mean they used the same pic from online somewhere? edited by Twatwaffle1476 on 2/25/2019

My only thought is the book you mentioned just came out or about to come out and some sellers are sending the books to CGC to be graded and selling books before they get the books back from CGC. So it is most likely a generic made picture showing the cover and the grade they are selling. I see this all the time.

Mr Twat, just use a search on eBay using “CGC PRESALE” and you’ll see many of the generic graded photos.

My initial thoughts as well but the seller has it on hand and stated it was a glare that caused the label to show as blank.

Mr. Twat is my dad, twatwaffle or just TW is fine. Lol. I understand that to be the case with them being generic placeholders for books yet to be graded or pre sale but the one seller did respond saying it was glare from taking the pic. Which is a bit suspicious as it's clear as day. I'm awaiting a follow up from him regarding a better pic of the label. The other seller did respond with it being a stock photo though.

A glare is kinda strange reason, I agree with you photo is clear. Good thing about PayPal and it’s partner EBay, if you get screwed over, getting your money back is easy to do. Hopefully you find another seller if in doubt and the cost is reasonable. Good luck in your search.

Both ended up being stock photos.
