I have a handful of comics I can't find prices for or decide which version I have? I think some of them would even be classified as books? Would ISBN # be more helpful?
Batman The Dark Knight Reutrns DC Comics 1986 Comix Penthouse July/August 1994 Conan The Barbarian Conan the Reaver Marvel 1987 Doctor Strange Into Shamballa Marvel 1986 Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back (autographed) Random House 1980 Heavy Metal Metal Mammoth 1994 Robotech Art1 Donning 1986 Shatter First 1988
I tried sending pictures, but I can't figure that out. If you can help please tell me what other info you will need to help me find these.
Thanks

Are they individual comic issues, or Trade Paper Backs? If they're TPBs, there is a tab under each title for those.
Typically, there is a set of publisher's information (known as indicia) on the inside of the book - sometimes the first few pages, sometimes the last few pages. This will give you the ACTUAL title of the book to search.
Hope that helps.

Batman The Dark Knight Returns--what edition? comic book 4 issue series, or trade paperback (thick, all 4 issues in one), or hardcover? Mini-series: https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/batman-the-dark-knight-returns/ror Multiple TPBs: https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/batman-the-dark-knight-returns/ror Hardcover editions: https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/batman-the-dark-knight-returns/ror
Comix Penthouse July/August 1994 (Penthouse Comix, comes up on search ok, not sure why you couldn't find it): https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/penthouse-comix/2/pmyxjt
Conan The Barbarian Conan the Reaver is under 'Marvel graphic novel': https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/conan-the-reaver-marvel-graphic-novel/umtpl
So is Doctor Strange Into Shamballa: https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/doctor-strange-into-shamballa-marvel-graphic/tivyo
Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back (autographed) Random House 1980 --likely not listed as they don't usually list autographed stuff unless it's like a numbered edition hardcover. Need more info tho.
Heavy Metal Metal Mammoth 1994. Can't find it either, not listed under the Specials tab for 1977 Heavy Metal where I thought it would be. Need more publishing info and pic. Find a pic thru google images and just post the URL to it.
Robotech Art 1 Donning 1986-- what is this? Donning is not listed under Publishers here. Is this an ART book about Robotech vs a comic or graphic novel? If so, it won't be here.
Shatter FROM First comics, 1988 series: https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/shatter/uotp 1988 Reprint trade paperback: https://comicspriceguide.com/titles/shatter/1_trade%20paper%20back/ukwqor

Thank you all for your help! I really know nothing about comics. These all belonged to my husband and after he died I was not too sure what to do with these! You all have given me a good place to start and some other things to search for to help me identify the books.
The Batman is a TPB with all 4 issues in one. I am just having a hard time figuring out which one it is? I will try to find a picture of Heavy Metal. Robotech is a graphic novel/comic. It is not an art book. I'll also try to find this picture online.

you're welcome. as Laroo42 pointed out, the publishing info inside the books will give you more info. On the Dark Knight trade paperbacks, it will say what printing it is, although sometimes if it's a first print it won't say that, but later will printings will say second, third, etc.. Just match up the cover image on the list on that link I gave you (although they don't have all the covers), and the cover price and year etc, and that will tell you what edition it is. Doesn't make much difference in price though.
Same with the Heavy Metal, look inside to see what issue number it is if not on the cover. Metal Mammoth is the publisher's name from 1992-on, so Mammoth may not be part of the mag's title. I tried a couple google searches and only get mentions of Metal Mammoth being the publisher, not a specific issue of "Heavy Metal Mammoth", so you'll need an issue number to look it up under Heavy Metal.
The Robotech book "Provides plot summaries for more than eighty episodes of a Japanese animated science fiction series and shares drawings and profiles of the main characters". It's just a guide book, so likely not going to be listed here, and probably is only worth cover price or less. Assuming this is it?: http://robotech.wikia.com/wiki/Robotech_Art_1
Good luck on the collection, you have lots to learn and deal with. edited by collectibleshop on 2/1/2018 edited by collectibleshop on 2/1/2018

Thanks!
So updates:
Dark Knight says 10th edition so I figure not worth unloading. Heavy Metal I found an image of the cover and it was listed on ebay for nothing. I'll probably just recycle it, Not Kid appropriate! HAHAHA Robotech is exactly the image you found.
I guess I'll just put them all with the other comics I have already cataloged and let my son decide when he get a little older!
Thank you again and I wish you well!!!
