I was reading the price guide and started to wonder from where you did your research of the values. Not only they seem way off for a vast amount of titles, but the own philosophy of American comic book's grading doesn't truly apply to our comic books, since it's condition is secondary, far less important than in USA.

So that made me really about what sources were used to conduct the research and if the person or persons gathered the values are brazilians.

I would guess that all prices are based upon two things:

1) Realized values. These would more than likely largely come from eBay and other public auction online sites. Perhaps some larger retailers.

2) Algorithms. There are many prices, especially graded, that have an algorithm applied to them and it is not actually based on a realized price.

Since this is a US based site US based collecting philosophies would be applied to all pricing where grade is the primary determinant of value. Of course, rarity, demand, and other factors come into play, but condition will still trump all those factors. Meaning a nicer condition book will ALWAYS bring more value.

You should also keep in mind that guides are not bibles they are only supposed to put you in the ballpark when trying to value a book. Ultimately, the fundamental determinant of value is you. How much are you willing to pay for a book? No matter what a price in a guide is I have paid more and less for books and there have been many reasons why I did so.

Sorry for taking so long to answer. Anyway, I understand what you said, but in the end of day, it's still misinformation for no good reason. I do not believe it's particularly harmful, because it's seems unlikely that someone will read what is in here, and then try to sell some item based on these prices without consulting other sources.

But if the information is wrong and has no use for besides harmless misguiding others, it would be simply better to remove it.
