| I will hate to lose the historical information that is at risk in this forum if the admins cannot move the threads over to the new forum. |

Such a bummer! Plus we all go back to 0 for our post numbers right?

| They say that post counts will be problematic. But I can't imagine they won't want to transfer them somehow. Getting the exact number may not be possible. For instance, in two different forums on the new board, I have a 2 post count in one and a 3,152 in the other. And now I'm up to 3,163 on the old board, but I might be stuck with the 3,152 on the new one. Whatever, it's no big deal. |

The main problem is that the new forum actually pulls your post count from your posts...if you don't have that many posts...it gets confused, because it also calculates a number of other stats from the number of exact posts...
Bryan is working on a solution around that if possible...

Ah, that's the third time I've heard that explanation and the first time I wrapped my head around it.
That is problematic. It's a programming issue, though, isn't it? Wouldn't the simplest workaround be to program in a "legacy" number or "start value" that would not be counted in the other stat calculations? You know, "start value cell A" + "post count cell B" = "display value cell C" but only cell B is identified for other stats?
Clearly, I'm not a programmer. Maybe this thread should be in Open Discussion. |

One complaint about the new board...
Is there's so many people on it right now just posting to get their post counts back up..Blah. And you can tell too...
It's harder than hell trying to keep up with the board with the amount of posts and new threads every time you turn around.. |
