I was going through my Gladstone collection of Uncle Scrooge..And on the Gladstone website it said Uncle Scrooge #310 was rare because of limited quantities was produced. Any known reason why this was so little? They said it can be valued at $50 (o.o);

I got it because Gladstone stuffed up my subscription somehow..But not bad if it's meant to be a "rare" one as modern books can be.

Some how I don't really see Gladstone getting very pricey yet when it comes to books.

i'm not sure what the print run was for that issue but a new $6.95 price format was started with scrooge #309. the previous issues the cover price was i think $2. i don't believe too many young kids read scrooge comics but it is popular with a lot of adults. i think gladstone made the format change with thicker covers and higher quality paper to appeal to the older adult disney collector. i think very few kids would pay $6.95 for a disney comic! so the print runs would be small since only a small segment of the comic-reading population would buy this. i believe some of the prices may stay high since collectors are willing to pay it and scrooge is a very popular character worldwide.

Oh yes, I was given that book (309) as well..however they were the only two I got. I'm holding onto my Scrooge comics..I love the duck..lol However, it never mentioned the others being rare books..It only said that 310 was.

I think they just raised the cover price of Uncle Srooge again, I think it is $7.50 now and the regular issue books like Donald Duck and Friends from $2.95 to $3.50.

Really? Wow, Uncle Scrooge gets the business! At least I'm not collecting newer Disney books.

I collect the newer Disney titles also, I just don't alway's pick up Uncle Scrooge. I have about 30 issues of the $6.95 cover priced issues though starting with #309.

Sweet. I've just cataloged about 350 comics within 4 days..had made my head spin because the majority of them are Disney books..so I've learned a lot in the process. It's great that I can now see the 'holes' that have started to appear in my collecting..It gives me a sure direction with it comes to collecting Disney comics from now on.

Think I read recently that Gemstone has cancelled 4 of the 6 Disney titles, the only ones left are Walt Disney's Comics and Stories and Uncle Scrooge at $7.50 each.

According to the market data, Uncle Scrooge sells aroun 5.000 each month, sometimes even less....So technically all issues are "scare", even scarcer than a lot of "hot" variants...Too bad Disney comics sells that low...
