Issues 3, 34, and Sp3 all appear to have the correct scans. What exactly is the problem? Do you have a copy of Special #3 that you think is #34?

I think this was the newstand version of Quasar. Although Quasar was a direct sale only title they printed 32-34 through the newstand for those that wanted to pick up all parts of the Galactic Storm Crossover but only bought their comics on the newstand. I think that might be the confusion.

And they renumbered them 1, 2, and 3?

I do beleive that's cheating.

Thanks for replying. I'm pretty sure the issue is a direct sale, there's no bar code...it has the 30th spidey in the square. Its exactly the same copy of #34 book, but its numbered #3 on the cover instead of #34. I wasn't sure if this was important enough to point out since I didn't see it in the list.

Sorry...I just saw your link to Sp3. This is the book I have, but it doesn't say special in the inside cover. I'm assuming this is it. Sorry about the trouble.

reason they did this was because Quasar at the time was a direct market only book and all the tie-ins to galactic storm were not.

they released the 3 parts of quasar as # 1 # 2 # 3. i never understood why it was numbered as a special because it was released same month as regular issue. even the 2006 overstreet has it as a special and notes that it was same as 32 - 34

The "Special" designation is just something CPG uses to differentiate between the other issues.
