I love Ultimate books. The Ult. U. has been a rare breath of fresh air under the Marvel banner. So man great characters given great revamps.

So how did they drop the ball so badly on Ult. Deadpool!?!?

I know the arc's not even over yet in Ultimate Spiderman, but the character redo is the most boring thing I've ever read. Pairing him with the reavers is incredibly inane, and the whole arc is sup-par. We've seen little to no character development at all, and what little there was makes him out to be 1) unfunny, and 2) a mutant bigot. At least they could make him really deadly or something. Instead we get blah.

Whay a wasted oppurtunity.

Yup. I was expecting amazing dialogue between him and Spider-man, could have been epic. Instead he is a bland killer with no interesting characteristics and adds no real value so far. Could change, but I'll stick with C&D for my Deadpool fill I guess.

yeah, i definately think that this is the worst arc that i have read in the ultimate comics, and i have read a lot of them. reading it is like reading an amazing spider-man comic from the ninties. there was no character development at all. there are shape shifters and a bunch of guys fighting, THATS ABOUT IT.

well, I did like the dialogue between spidey & the x-men, esp. Kitty Pryde.

Ultimate Deadpool is (so far) just another merc/hitman with nothing special about him. No witty one liners, no cool jokes and he's hanging around with a bunch of losers (Reavers) :(

I've only picked the arc up for Deadpool, and so far I'm disappointed.

I wasnt really upset with the whole Reavers team up or even with the storyline. But Prof. X??!! No way!!! I love Deadpool just like a lot of people. There's no way they would use this character as a throw away bad guy. Is there?

I bought the arc just for Ult. DP too. I haven't been too impressed, but the pairing with Reavers doesn't bother me at all. It's the lack of comedic lines that's disappointing. Though I've only seen Bendis be funny w/Spidey in New Avengers so far.

I like the Reavers in original continuity when they first appeared in Uncanny X-Men (230's I believe). They were a great group of villains and an excellent follow-up to the Marauders from the Mutant Massacre.

The Ultimate Reavers seem REALLY weak in comparison. This whole things has just been a bore.

Well it seems to me that they have changed his powers and made him a shape shifter. I mean... ok.. I know its the Ultimate universe and that the whole point is to do a new take on existing characters but he works so much better as a merc with a healing factor. This way he just looks like a cheap Mystique knock off.
