Barry re-entering the fold is great for the limitations the character has to offer. Here's a characeter that has to re-adjust to society (a la Cap. America) and he's not as fast as Wally, which ups the difficulty with combating the Rogues and such.
Not as fast as Wally? Since when? Last I heard Barry could go as fast as he wanted: 10 times the speed of light? No problem for ol' Barry!

| This will probably NOT be a long term thing. Barry said he would come back three times when Wally needs him most. This will be the third. methinks that at the end of final crisis, Barry will be gone for good.

Have to think that since Wally and family are running the Flash title into the ground they are thinking of bringing back Barry, making him a bit cooler and hipper and having him highlight the title. Wally can go raise the kids and join in occaisonally. I'm a big Flash fan but like Havok I only gave the kids a couple issue before I dropped the title.

I've never read any Barry/Flash stories (except for Crisis) so I'm kind of wondering why a lot of people are excited about this. I mean, aren't most readers today more familiar with Wally? I'm not trying to be facetious when I ask, what makes Barry better than Wally?

DC is just bring Barry back so they can off another Flash for another CrisisThats honestly what I kind of thought as well... Personally if Barry is coming back, I hope by the end of it he also is the Flash that dies again. Not out of spite, but I simply don't see any reason for Barry to exist outside of what his current role is. This isn't the Marvel universe where Hero's can easily become other heros and be accepted, otherwise I'd say that there was potential for Wally or Barry to become a new hero and have the both co-exist, but I can't see that happening in the DCU.
