Stanley Kamel

I always enjoyed his characterizations...but I really liked his work on Monk...

So long Doc...

Three Degrees connection:

He worked with Tony Shaloub...who appeared in the Men In Black movies...which were based on the comicbook...

He's one of those guys that always had work in Hollywood.

Oh and he's like one degree away from the comic book genre.

  1. "The Incredible Hulk" .... Gary (1 episode, 1979)
        - Captive Night (1979) TV episode .... Gary
  2. Captain America II: Death Too Soon (1979) (TV) .... Kramer

Not to gloss over the fact that I was incredibly sad to hear about him passing...

but what the hell are they going to do on Monk without him?

Seriously, he was a really fantastic actor, and he posted on the Monk message board all the time. He did a lot of research into treating people with OCD and he made sure to talk to his fans often. I went there after he died to see if they had any info and they've got a virtual shrine going. Seemed like a great guy.

Karen....You're a MONK fan!!!!

I knew there was some deep reason I lusted after you......it had to be something other than the great personality...and the Wonder Woman cleavege...

I have to say I've been a Tony Shaloub fan for a lot of years...Mostly from his role as Antonio Scarpacci on Wings...but I rember he played a terrorist years before that on an old favorite of mine The Equalizer...and who else could have played Alexander Minion (Spy Kids)...or Jack Jeebs (Men In Black)...

I kinda have a "thing" for Tony Shalhoub. Same thing for me... started on Wings and progressed from there. I LOVE Monk and the other USA shows. I pretty much watch anything he is involved with. The thing that I admire about him is how he takes care of his friends. He has given countless cameos to people he worked with on other shows and movies. I even saw somewhere that he touches base with hiring agents to get pals that are out of work jobs in new shows. Just a nice guy all around.

Plus he makes me feel normal... I have a touch of the OCD myself.

Just a little Monk update:
Well, we kinda knew Monk couldn't go too long without an analyst, right? So, tragic as is the April 8 death of Stanley Kamel — aka the neurotic's Dr. Kroger — a USA Network spokesperson confirms to me exclusively that Hector Elizondo has been tapped to join Monk as Tony Shalhoub's new shrink. There's no word on how his character will be introduced, but he'll first turn up in the show's seventh season premiere on July 18.

On a related note, Elizondo's hiring would seem to signal that CBS' Cane is a goner.

So what's your take, peeps? Will you have a harder time adjusting to seeing Monk on someone else's couch than he'll have being on someone else's couch? Or do you remember Elizondo so fondly from Pretty Woman and The Princess Diaries that you'll actually be psyched to see him take a role on a show you actually watch?
