My first post, "Hello".
Like most people I'm trying to find out what my collection is worth and if there might be some interest in it.
I have from #1 - #31, missing #12. Most are .35 some are .30 and some have bar codes and some don't..
Where is the best place to sell and the most reputable? Is it better to sell online than in person? what would I need to do to help someone establish the legitimacy of the comics?
Thanks for any help and suggestions.

as all others who would read this FIRST consult "the guide"
http://www.comicspriceguide.com/
then get an idea of their condition but from the looks of it most are still really nice so decide what they are worth to you then compare that to what their $ value is and decide from there whether you'd be willing to part with them If you love SW as much as i do you'd think twice, or three times but if you wanna sell p.m. me i am always looking for S.W. ish's for other sets! hope "the guide" helps!

sorry i almost missed the point i've had good luck with the internet but got ripped off in person and vice verse and some comic shops will just flat out give you ten bucks for the stack and wait till you leave and turn around and put them on ebay for $3,000!!! (not that they're worth that but i tend to exaggerate) as far as how to sell check locally for comic auctions and or conventions and shop them around for awhile possibly put an ad in your local paper or some such equivalent (we have: "The Tri-State Mercantette" here in weirton) where you call in the add for free hundreds of people read it and you can get direct attention put on what you're selling. I also make use of the CPG selling function occasionally (no bites yet though)
but then i haven't spent alot of time doing so either the more effort you put forth on it the better you'll do if you're smart about it and don't just take the first $80.00 someone waves at you!hope i could help,Tim

expander (3/3/2010) as all others who would read this FIRST consult "the guide"

expander,
Thanks for the reply, unfortunately things are a little tight and I am interested in selling them and of course I'm looking to get the most that I can for them.
I've tried to do my homework and from what I can see none of them are extremely valuable just average prices from what I can tell. They've been kept in a box and are what I would call exceptional condition so i think that helps their value.
Since an internet sale is difficult from a buyers perspective what's the best way to display the condition of the comics?
Adam,

I am new to this forum, but if cards are anything like comics you have 2 different values when it comes to selling you have sell value and comic guide pricing just because a comic is worth 200 I would not expect to get that unless it will have a good turn around on it. I am not sure how much truth there is to the sell values of comics but good luck to you sir

i usually use a scanner and include cover scans of the front and back covers but if that's more time consuming than you'd like a good close up of the group of comics similar to what you already did is sufficient. just be sure to point out any flaws if at all that you see. honesty brings repeat customers and ensures that they don't demand a refund. look at the coloring of the pages and condition of the spines and orientation of the staples to "grade" the books there is also a forum specific to grading books i'll see if i can find it here................

there are many topics but it'd be worth reading through what others are going through and getting an idea of what to look for and what not to do. and if there's a question JUST ASK! this is the place for your comics questions if at all anywhere.
