I think retail is $150 for the set of two. At conventions you can probably find them cheaper. I think I got both of mine for either $100 or $120. The books are well worth the price. They are very high quality, and huge books. I think they are a must of any dedicated collector!

You can find less expensive copies through Amazon with affiliated book dealers.  I recently got a shrink wrapped copy of Vol. 1 for $40 + sh.

I need to get on that, Sz......

It really would be a handy thing to have on the bookshelf.

There are 4 volumes

Two for GA and two for SA Marvel.

The SA Marvel books were subsequently combined into one book and is approximately the same thickness as a single GA volume.

I found my GA volumes at Half-Priced Books and talked them down to $60 from the $75 they were asking and I got my Marvel volumes from a CGC forum member for $40.

I ended up creating a sideline business offering mylar dust jacket covers because due to the size of them the propensity for the dust jackets to get torn and messed up is very easy.

Well, who knows the Gerber scale fro Detective 44?

And, what does the number means? 9 is between 1 and 5 known copies or something like that?

    Tec 44 is a Gerber 4

Most knowledgable golden age collectors and dealers will tell you that when it comes to the Gerber scale that you should double the number of existing copies to have a better idea of what's in the marketplace.

Keep in mind too that many of the Gerber ratings have been shown to be wrong either positive or negative as to scarcity.
