I've got a copy of this (The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck) and I only picked mine up last year...Anyways, I was watching the auction because when I found it was around $50AU..crazy...It ended up finishing at $81AU!

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280453772706&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

So i went to Amazon afterwards curious to see if they still sold it..Nah...But other shops within Amazon did and some were selling it for as much as $199US!

WTF?

Was it a low print run or do people just love this book THAT much!?

I've watched those prices climb also...

I don't know how big or small the print run was...but watching Ebay auctions seems to indicate that there is more demand than there is supply...

I wonder why everyone would be focusing on the gemstone TPB when Boom! is releasing a hardback version?

What about the original comics themselves? Are they unavailable, do to all of us?

Collectors, who can tell.

First prints will always garner more interest.

Probably they are but I would venture to guess it would take some time to put the run together and would still cost you more money than the TPB.

My guess is that the print run was low on it
