The year was 1991, I was about 10 years old and my comic collecting was just starting to blossom. I had done my homework and I was old enough to appreciate the value and respect that old comics deserved. I knew which comics were most desired, and I knew that as a kid there was no way I could ever afford such high profile items. One day my dad gets a phone call from my uncle and hes asking if I was still collecting comics and if I would be interested in a bunch of old comics that someone he knew had kicking around. So a few months later he finally gets around to mailing them over, and during that time I'm vibrating with excitement. I'm day dreaming about Action Comics #1, Amazing Spiderman #1, Marvel Comics #1, Detective Comics #27....you name it. The big day finally arrives and I rip open the package to find......these. At the time I was disappointed needless to say. But 17 years later I can appreciate them and I'm just glad they never got thrown out which I'm sure would have happened. Anyways, let me know what you think and feel free to share any similar stories you might have (hopefully a little more epic than mine was)

Someone: "Well I happen to have Amazing Spider-Man #92"
Me: "I have #1"
Someone: ".......oh."

| 1991 does not seem like 17n years ago. Time flies. Shame the books aren't upo there with your ASM quality, but it's always nice to have books like this that you can relatre to as being the start of your comic collection.

Yea...they have some water damage it looks like. A couple of the covers are so fragile that if you breathe on them, pieces will flake off. Too bad they weren't taken care of a bit better. Ah well. At least they didn't end up in the garbage.
