On Sunday, I went and bought 100 new sleeves and boards to tidy up my comic collection. I have joined the CPG main site and would like to find out the true worth from my collection.

However, I am not all that great of a grader...as far as I know...so I would ask if you would please take your guess at the grades of the issues of my comic collection. Now, I own hundreds of comics...and I won't do all at once. So, I scanned one title I collect, "The Amazing Spider-Man", and linked all 33 issues (Six annuals, One Amazing Spider-Man Volume 2 annual) and I included scans of both the front and back on the one image. Clearly, my worst issue is #172...even I am able to judge a "poor" condition when it's obvious, as the cover is no longer attached to the book!

So, here are the scans of my "Amazing Spider-Man" collection, and if you were able to give opinions on grades...and just type the issue #, then the grade number you would give it...I would greatly appreciate it.

AMAZING SPIDER-MAN

Heya....

That is A LOT of comics to post.

I doubt I'll look at all of them, though.

What I would suggest is to pick out SOME that are indicative of your books overall.

By getting feedback on those, you can get an idea of the grade of the others you have.

Hmmm..what I mean is take a few in varying condition, and then use those opinions to estimate grades on the rest.  (Am I making sense here?)

If you have that many SA and BA comics, I really do recommend getting a copy of Overstreet's grading guide.  Just starting out again, it really won't matter much which edition you get.

Another suggestion is to look at the comics that others have posted and what the grading estimates are for those, and again, use that as an example for books you have.

I really do appreciate you wanting to value your collection as accurately as possible, it just isn't feasible to have us look at every single one you have.

(PLEASE: Don't take this as any kind of slight or slam, just my opinion.  It is not said with any malice or irritation!)

Thanks!

#29: 2.5 (Is the cover actually attached to the top staple?)

#70: 3.5 (I'm not sure exactly how much deduction for the book length crease)

#83: 3.5 (Are those gouges lower cover by the guy's gun?  Unfortunately quite a bit of soiling, too)

Wow...a little harsh on #29. Yes, the cover is still attached via all three staples. I thought it would be possible for someone to make guesses on the books....I posted over 30...not 1000....but I understand.

Via CPG...my Amazing Spider-Man collection in my estimated grades based on past estimates is $232.05. The most expensive comic is #29 at $40.00 worth, and my least expensive is the poor condition #172 with the cover detatched. I might make $0.06 off of it Hehe

I know it's harsh on the 29, unfortunately there is serious browning, deep large creases, and that tear on the bottom of the back cover.

And I didn't mean to imply you already had too many posted, but it seemed like you intended to put all of your comics up from the text in your first post.

And don't take the first few grades you get as gospel.  Grading is still somewhat subjective, and you will find varying opinions.  Some more educated than others (meaning mine is on the slightly less educated, others will be more...)

#29 - I'm at 3.0 tops with that comic. Would grade higher but the back has a lot going on in the way of defects. Maybe 2.5 would be more realistic.

#70 - Color breaking crease running the length of the cover almost always guarantees a 3.0 at best.

#76 - I'll say a 4.0 would be fair.

#77 - Again another color breaking crease cover the entire cover.  3.0

#83 - The spine has a some major stress marks. Plus the cover has lots of creases, wear, scratches and a few holes. 2.5

Dropping your pants will not get you comics.

#210 - 4.5 I'm thinking though hard to judge a bit. I have to agree with the others that this is a large load to grade. I might pop in and grade one every now and again but generally the format in here is not to post more than about 3 in a thread and use the IMG link so its easy for all to see.  We're happy to help out but that's a lot of grading to get done.

Sure thing....I'll keep it to just a few at a time.

For now, just give opinions on those five books, Amazing Spider-Man #29, 70, 76, 77 and 83.

#29: I think people have been harsh on this book. Looks like a 3.5 to me. The front looks pretty nice for a low grade book.

#70: 3.5

#76: 4.5 or 5.0

#79: 4.0

#83: 4.0
