I don't think it would hit over $5 million, but who knows? I think it has potential to hit that, but don't know if it would. This is something that I think would be of high enough quality to attract millionaire and billionaire investors who have no real connection to comics, but invest in collectibles among other things. I guess we'll never know though.

What I am hearing is speculation says that Marie Severin donated the art. She is getting up there in age, and recently suffered a stroke, so in my mind it fits that she would choose to donate it now. I am sure she knows that if it is not donated, that it might cause problems if it ever came down to legal junk and estates. It also makes sense that she would have possession of the art as she was working for Marvel during Ditko's time period.

Everyone seems really excited that it was donated rather than sold. I am definitely not unhappy about the donation since I think it symbolizes extreme generosity and kindness...but I have to say that I am a little bit bummed that it will never be sold. I kind of want to see the pages auctioned off so that they can be made a part of many collections around the world. But like I said, I am not unhappy about a donation. Very thoughtful. I am suprised that the original art even exists, and furthermore that it was kept quiet for all of these years.

well something is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it. i would pay 5 million easy if i was a billionaire.

Would like to see that art in person. They should put it on display at the Smithsonian.

very true..I believe this as well..this art should be shared with the public..let them see what we all see..why we collect what we do..why we love the stuff we collect...Why these artist did what they did..
