While I was cleaning out my closet this week, I stumbled upon a box full of my old comics and Hot Wheels. At the bottom of this box, I found a smaller box, 4x4x2" with these 4 coins sitting in them.

They are gold(in color), have a nice weight to them, the three Marvel coins are produced by AMC, the Darryl Strawberry one is made by BANDAI. Marvel coins were stamped year 1987, Darryl was stamped 1990.

Face side of Marvels feature the character, in my case Captain America, Incredible Hulk, and The Amazing Spider-Man. Then on the tail side has Cartoon Celebrities ontop, some sorta logo in the middle. Can't seem to find any information on these coins. Only thing I found was one coin from Marvel's Adventure City Niagara Falls, but this doesn't look anything like it. Pics are below, I also uploaded uneditted ones for better detail. You can view the unedited ones here. Future thanks for any info on these!

Again, thanks for any info on these!!

Is the front a re-strike of the coins from'77-78? Looks like the same picture to me.

I'm finding vague info here and there. Nothing on re-strikes though.

Hello friend,
What you have are the Marvel characters of Cartoon celebrities coins sold in 1987. As the ad says, 5 dollars for bronze, 10 for gold plate and about 20 for silver. All 3 are from series II. The artist engraver died in the middle of production. The second series was never completed. Silver versions in a small black box in perfect condition sell on ebay anywhere from 30 to 60 dollars. Loose coins less.Usually were sold on a shrinkwrapped card. Bronze hold up well and sell for about 20 or so . Gold plate seems to tarnish fast and can rub off if polished, which should never be done. so they sometimes sell for less if at all. They are popular. ebay is your best bet so start at 10 dollars plus 3 dollars shipping and who knows.???
The last coin is Batman and Robin jumping out of the batmobile. Last time on ebay was 5 or more years ago. I would have paid 100 and now 200 but oh well maybe someday. Let me know if you or a friend have one. Good Luck
