to get to my point - I was suprised to find out my GI JOE (1982 series) has the first printing of the 2nd issue...and from what I can gather from different sources it could be worth a nice bit of change...

Also in my pile is #4 hot wheels from 1970 and the monkees #1 from the late 60's...from the internet these 3 seem to be my prized comics...

Next step - send them down to CGC for grading...I'm thinking 9 or above...they have been well kept for 28 years - in comic bags w/ cardboard - near mint - only read once or twice and put away...

does anyone have any thoughts on value as a pre-lim...? thanks

New to this forum and likin' it.

You won't grade comments without scans. Just because books were read only once or twice and stored away does not guarantee mint or near mint status, particularly if they were bought from a newsstand.

thanks for the heads up - If I were to scan the cover/back would that help - are there any other places to scan up close or something? just wondering what would make it easier.

Good size scans of the front and back would definitely help w/grading.
