Short Intro (Spoiler):
The ghost of a deceased, dickless (literally... it gets cut off) special forces operative enters the body of his goody two-shoes brother, who happens to be a Catholic priest, and they join like Volton to become a freaky creature who slices folks up. Also, there's a subplot involving "scientific documents".
It has potential. Like most things these days, it's all "muscles and guns" as Damien Knox might say. Most amusing indeed.

I took a very large pass on this book. The art and the concept was not appealing in the slightest. I am also not one to support Todd McFarlane.

Silver Age Surfer (10/8/2009)
Short Intro (Spoiler):

S.A.S.,
I think that this comic is really good!!
I just finished reading it and I thought it had some sparkle to it. Kinda of a 3-D man (the original 3D man) premise to it. However, instead of being physically crippled, the younger brother is emotionally crippled; he may be a priest, but homeboy has got more issues than a magazine stand. He ain't no goody-two-shoes. Looks like it's going to be a type of redemption story. I like redemption stories. Darkness and light living in one body, who's gonna win?
I would have liked to have known why the brother that was a secret agent returned from the dead. It seemed that he was a figment of his brother's imagination until the two merged. There must be a reason that he returned or was allowed to return. Is that reason sinister or no? Is it part of some higher being's agenda? There is much to be explained. I'm curious.
The art was very nice, and the design of the Haunt character rocks my socks off. We know that he can be brutal, but I look forward to all of his powers manifesting themselves. I also look forward to finding out about all the baggage that caused the dysfunction in their family. If this comic can bring the drama, the suspense, and the action that I hope that it will, I'll be signed on for the whole ride.
I'm glad that I bought that SDCC preview. I like this comic so far.

Hey XcasperX,
I do not think that the Haunt #1 1st printing will ever appreciate significantly. Maybe the variants will. There was so much of a marketing push on these that I am pretty sure that everyone and their mothers have one. I am sure that it probably had a moderate to huge print run. If you can get your hands on a cheap 1/50 or 1/100 go for it.
I agree. Image is kicking butt and staying humble. Maybe the big two could use a lesson in that.

I am a big fan so far. I bought the reg #1, the 1:25 variant and #0 (preview signed by Kirkman). Image is starting to kick some a**. Chew and Haunt have been a breath of fresh air. Cant wait for Haunt #2 to come out.
