With 6 days to go...Already up to $46.00...Methinks it is due a revaluation in the DB....The Avatar Illustrated pre-dates this book but was shipped later than this one was...This one made it to market FIRST...Per Barry Gregory on Comic Geek Speak comic forum...                    http://www.thecomicforums.com/forum2//index.php?showtopic=157897

"Let me try to add some clarity to this if I can ... since I was the editor of both titles at the time. Yes, the very first printed appearance of the Goon was in a 1 page backup story in DreamWalker #0 by Jenni Gregory. I know because I'm the one who put it there. The same 1 page story ran in Avatar Illustrated but DreamWalker #0 was out first. Avatar Illustrated did have an earlier release date than DreamWalker #0, but it was late shipping and DreamWalker #0 actually came out before it.

DreamWalker #0 had only a 3,000 copy print run. Jenni and I each have a couple of personal copies, but the rest of the run sold out years and years ago. Finding one would be, I think, a major achievement.

The copy of DreamWalker #0 that is available at IndyPlanet.com is a digital reprint and NOT a first printing. It does NOT contain the 1 page Goon story -- though it IS an absolutely terrific comic."

I'm starting to wonder about this last post because the goon story in this book is 4 pages long plus has a full page ad for the goon #1 . I've been told by my pals at avatar that avatar ill 1998 was out about dec 1998 and dreamwalker # 0 was out before it .

We had a long thread going on the Collector's Society Forum about both Dreamwalker 0 and Avatar Illustrated 1998, with one member asking Powell directly when meeting him at Dragon Con 2009.

Both books contain preview material of content that had already been created with the intent it be in Goon 1 Avatar Press. So supposedly, these books ARE NOT the 1st appearance of the Goon, but rather preview material.

You are right on the reprint of Dreamwalker 0, as Jenni Gregory continued to reprint her material under the Dreamwalker 0 title, but this does not contain the preview Goon material. You can easily tell the difference in that the original issue was published by Avatar Press, and her reprint version is published under the Dreamwalker Press banner.
