I'm going to try to sell my Charlton Captain Atom's and Blue Beetle's but I don't know what to sell them for and where?
Have tried eBay (not one bid), have tried comicbookclassifeds.com (barely an itch) and listed a few yahoo groups (nothing), so where is one to go then? CBC.com you get responses with cutting your prices, paying by the pound or wanted FREE shipping. Maybe its the marketplace right now.
Here are my books:
CA (all Ditko art)-
Space Adventures: v3#40 '61 (F+)
Strange Suspense: v1#75(F-F+), 77(VG+-F), 81(F+), 82-83(VG-VG+), 84(F-F+), 85(VG-VG+), 87(VF- - VF), 88(F-F+), 89(G-G+, title ripped off)
BB-
Blue Beetle: v2#1(VG+), 3(VG+-F), v3#5(VG+-F), v3#52(VG-VG+)
BB (all Ditko art)-
Blue Beetle: v1#1(VG), 2(VG+), 3-4(F), 5(VG+-F)

| The Charlton's are easy to find in mid to low grades...and with the economy the way it is, alot have come out of the woodwork... Ebay is still your best bet... Start them as low as you are willing to go...and be prepared to have to relist them a number of times until the right buyer happens across them... Free shipping helps...but it isn't always the clincher...most collectors are willing to pay to have the books sent their way if they feel they've gotten a fair deal on the price... Make sure you drop a note in the messege boards at the Yahoo groups that they are available...The Ditko/Kirby group or the Ditkomania group always have members pointing people to their auctions...Just be polite and follow the established examples... Again, because of the economy, there are a lot of comics out there to be had at very reasonable prices, so the key is to be willing to "re-adjust" your idea of what they are worth...

Thought that was the answer. But I did go to atomicavenue.com to give a general idea of guide pricing, then took 50% off of guide. Now have them listed on comicclassifeds.com http://www.comicbookclassifieds.com/?read=12786
Only one response asking 80% off of guide with free shipping. I don't see how I can? Example: My Captain Atom's are listed @ $210, sell @ $100. Dealer offered $60 + 25 for ALL Blue Beetle's and asking for free shipping. That's $368.50 (guide) which $180 (selling) down to $75?
eBay, nobody is buying. Just tried to sell original art, got 10% of what I thought it would sell for. And there again, people are asking for free shipping. Can't ship Media Mail any more due to new rules (7/09) that ALL Media Mail is to be opened, then will ship forward or ship back to original shipper, losing the postage. Had this happen twice where item, comics, had advertisement other clients.
Any suggestions?

Maybe try posting thm on ebay again with a nice pic of the beautifully spread out. Then start the bidding at 99 cents, but put a reserve on it for the minimum that you will accept. In the body of the listing, reveal the reserve price and highlight it in another color. This has worked for me pretty well when I needed to sell of a bunch of moderns; hopefully it will work even better for you with all that Silver Age goodness. I do not think that anyone asking for free shipping is being fair. Have you tried to see what mycomicshop.com is willing to give you for them? Sometimes they offer reasonable prices if you aren't trying to turn a heavy profit. Check here: http://www.mycomicshop.com/webuycomics/record Good luck Terry and thanks again. TEX
