I hope a collector out there can point me in the right direction. I recently acquired a large collection of DC comics from the 1960s. A lot of detective comics, superman, SuperBoy, etc. I also have a Justice League of America #1 in decent shape. My question to you is Are these worth having a professional grading done? What are the costs and how much does this add to the value. I have about a 100 comics to sell and would like to know if i should go through the trouble of getting a few more graded. The comics have been sitting up in the attic for a long time so none are in great shape but all reasonable. Please point me in the right direction.
Thank You,

No, they are all pretty much worthless. Just sell them to me for $10.
OR you can use this free online grading tool http://www.e-bigs.net/freetool.php to grade some of the ones you think are valuable. Then look them up on http://www.comicspriceguide.com to give them a monetary value.
OK... $15.

Oh please, you couldn't even turn into Bill Bixby.

I would only bother getting the higher grade key books graded ... except the JLA #1 which I would probably send in regardless. Grading isn't cheap so you may have to do some research or buy a month subscription to GPAnalysis to find out market prices of graded books in whatever range your books are. If "raw" books and graded books in the same grade are going for about the same price then it is not worth getting them graded. You want to be able to make back your grading investment and then some.
