Hey, I recently started to get into the comic book scene, I have collected a few simpsons comics here or there but was wondering if people had tips for the best series to read....I don't want to have to read too many back issues to understand the story unless I really need to or the story is to good to miss .....thankss for all the help

Shhhh. My common sense is tingling.

Just wander through your local comic shop and peruse the covers...something will strike you...

It always helps when giving recommendations to know what the person likes. Since your comics experience is limited, I would have to ask what movies and/or books do enjoy? Genre or specific would help.

Simpsons?
You probably like Groo the Wanderer. Marvel did 120 issues, most are easy to find for under a buck each.

And pick up the 12 issue series - Normalman

Bargain bins are your friend! If you live near a Half-Price Books, for instance, you can get comics very cheaply, and it's a great way to orient yourself and see what you like.

There are lots of different sites online that offer reviews of comics, if reading about them first would help you make up your mind; I run one of those myself (address below) -- and there are plenty of others that would be even more useful than my page.

Have fun & happy reading to you!
