My latest purchase from 1st Print Comics: The Team America series. There were only 12 issues. It was never popular at all, but I bought them back when I was just starting High School. It was a comic about motorcycle racers and stuntmen... I mean come on!
I no longer have ANY of my old comics from my youth, so I thought I would replace some of my personal favorites.
I got all 12 of these in really nice condition for $10.
I think next (besides the birth month/year comics) might be ROM The Spaceknight for my "I once had these as a lad" comics.
COOL!!
I remember those guys. They started out in Captain America right? Back in the his motorcycle riding days. Did you ever notice that their outfits resembled the Fighting American's getup?

Great stuff SClingerman. I have also been contemplating trying to regain my ROM series. I really liked that comic.

One of my missions has been to collect all the comics from when I was born. (It would be an easy task if I was 15 years younger.)
I bought my first one of these today.
From May 1967 is Superman #196. It has a subscription crease down the middle, but other than that it is in pretty 5.0 to 5.5 shape.
I was happy to have paid $18 for it since all I did was give my LCS my Mission List, and the owner e-mailed me with "I have it set aside for you." (Yes, I am a lazy man and I do not like trusting eBay.)

Some day I hope to show it to my great-grandchildren when both the comic and I are 100 years old.
Then I'll yell "Get off my lawn ya dang whipper-snappers!"

What a great cover!!
$18 sounds more than fair. I like it!!
You won't have to worry about people walking on your lawn when you're 100...we'll all be wearing anti-grav belts!!!
I hope

TEX*Editors Note (You know, from back in the day.) You're right Tex. Team America first appeared in Captain America #269 (May 1982). The team was later renamed "Thunderiders" in Thing #27 (September 1985).

My pleasure Tex! I figured that you could get some use out of it.

Got my next May '67 issue. The Flash #170.
I thought it was in better shape when I saw a picture of it. So I overpaid.
I don't know... I got a good deal on one comic, and not a good deal on another. Maybe it just all evens out in the end.
Either way - I have my The Flash "Old As Me" comic.

P.S. - Yuck. My old scanner is not being nice to my comics. It gives big areas of solid colors a bunch of specks (especially the black).

I remember that story. A family friend died and left me a bunch of comics as a kid, and in them were some comics digests. One of the Flash digests had that story in it and one about the Pied Piper. Great memories. Great stories.
Congrats. Enjoy.

Flash #170 - LOL
"unbelievable" - great, this story is not realistic, like your typical red kryptonite or Bat-Mite story??? And that's an attempt to make me want to buy it? Did DC ever try using as a cover blurb "the suckiest story you'll read all year"?
Nice pickup.
