What the heck, I'm gonna open a topic for myself -- all the other kids have one.

Here's what I bought this week:

Battlefront #16 (Atlas) about 5.0, cost 5.75

Dark Days #1 (sequel to 30 Days Of Night)
Fables 3, 5-9
Global Frequency #1
League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen V 1 #s 3-6
The Literals #1 (Fables crossover)
Looking Glass Wars: Hatter M #1
Marvel Zombies 2 #5
Out There # 4-7
Shade The Changing Man 6, 7, 16
Y The Last Man 19, 50, 52, 60

All 8.0 or better, all 0.54 USD unless otherwise stated.

Does y'all dig Ben Templethief, or whatever his name is? I have mixed feelings about him; his Ralph Steadman imitation is dead-on accurate, and it's a really effective way to draw horror... but if that's the only trick he knows, seems to me I'm gonna get tired of it pretty quickly.

Nice pick ups pmadreenter,

54 cents each is a robbery!! Well done. I have been thinking of reading Global Frequency myself. I heard that it was good, and that there is even unaired pilot floating around on the net. Rumor has it that Warren Ellis himself leaked it onto the internet, which upset the producers, Warner Brothers, and caused them to kill the project (even though it got rave reviews). Talk about shooting yourself in the hoo-haw.

Love your thread. Don't quit!!

Thanks for the warm TX welcome.

Global Frequency was pretty good, it sorta reminded me of The Filth, without any of the craziness. I hadn't heard about the teevee show/pilot thing. I'll certainly pick up #s 2 and up if they're still there next time I go -- the whole run was sitting there Friday afternoon, but I had to make some tough decisions.

I found a 4" stack of comics in my storage unit that I'd forgotten I had, haven't read them or anything, so I may not bother buying (m)any this week. Famous last words. Got some stuff coming in the mail, though...

Marvel Zombies 2 #5

Possibly the best cover of the whole series. Sure it's hackneyed, but that's the point, and it's well-executed.

Nice pickups.

I agree ... except I tired after pages

Uyyy, you're cold, Dead One. I sorta like him, he's offbeat and different enough to be a nice once in awhile change from 'normal' comics art... but after reading three of his books close together, I wasn't running back to the LCS for more, y'know? Looking Glass War: Hatter M only had 2 or 3 pages of the bloody fangs stuff, and it was sorta neat to see him "draw" 19th century Paris, some hints of a sense of comedy peeked through...

Slow week for me, I had end of the month issues, not too many quarters left over to toss around buying funnybooks... but I'm planning a monster buy next week, going to score big-big on... probably Monday. Details when it happens.

For the week ending 10/3, I had an artsy/undergroundsy package come in the mail:

Facts O Life Funnies
Frank 1-3
Scott Russo's Jizz 1, 3-8

all for 11.75

Facts O' Life

Frank 1
Frank 2
Frank 3

and then I did see a few things in the 0.54 cent bin that I couldn't pass up:

Daredevil 192
H P Lovecraft's Haunt Of Horror 1 (Corben)
Miracleman 2
Thor 356

Daredevil
Haunt Of Horror
Miracleman
Thor

I'll take part of it back. The art work was neat at first ... but the text/font of the word bubbles drove me completely bonkers. LOL. I kept making up voices in my head that were very aggravating. I know it's petty but I can't help it.
