Would be great if you would make high quality before after photos. The bright light photos show the wrinkles very well but they do not show how the comic edges lay flat post pressing.

My only goal was to show the wrinkles. I am not saying it came out perfect as you can see from photos anyways. Just ask me how it came out and I will tell you the truth. The corners were far from flat before I started but are not absolutly perfect now . Perfection takes time and I just got started so give me a couple of more months and I will have it down pat.

Why are you so defensive over being asked to post more photos about something which you yourself brought up? You currently are offering pressing on your website so I thought you would be eager to show off your results not tell me come back in a few months once you figure it out.

What does it matter to you who I am, this is all just a form of free entertainment.

Thanks Universal Soldier for the detail reply, it's very appreciated. I was just wondering because i saw 2 or 3 reply on other post (still about mastercpu resto) about the fact that someone without a teacher could not achieve anything and i found those type of response a bit misguided. But like I said not here to make any enemies only here to share with other passionate.

Have a great labour day man!!

As I see it one can learn a great deal from reading. It is how one applies the learned information that matters, and for the most part CPU is simply too eager. And through that eagerness is selling himself and his craft short.

Since you offer this service to the public it is it important to have high def scans of the before and after and even side shots. People need to know if there was any adverse affects caused by the pressing or if the book lays flat (I remember you showing one of your previous examples and the book was all rippled).

My camera and scanner are on default and thats good enough. Did you see Tex's A4? Its not wavy is it? What isImportant is that people stop trying to knock me down every chance they get.

Its important to listen and you will see,

I do pressing and dry cleaning absolutly free,

The people who send in their comics,

Are very happy with me.

Saying your camera is set on default is pretty lame. Either say you don't think it important to post your work in detail or that you cannot figure out how to work your camera but don't say it is because it is your cameras fault.

Nice rhyme though, but poor spelling.

Hey Oxbladder, what you are saying is, that all the autodidact people in the world would never be professional at what they doe since they doesn't have a teacher in front of them. So all those home course given by universities are dooty right??

Everyone whether home schooled or not has to meet external requirements in order to be a professional. Right now CPU is just doing things his own way and with no guidance or checks to ensure he doing things the right way. There isn't single professional comic restorer that has had LOTS and I mean hundreds of hours of practice and tutelage from a recognized expert. People like Susan Ciccone, for example, even had to have tutelage from someone and she had already come to comics as a recognized and formally educated paper conservator. In CPU's case he has practiced some hour on some of his own books from what he learn in maybe several hours of reading. He has had no one to check his work and has set his own standards. He thinks his few hours of practice is enough for him to go public and offer his limited knowledge and experience to others.

He tries to convey an expertise he has not yet learned. He has not put in the required time had the proper education to know what is and isn't good work or what books should and shouldn't be done. It's like me saying I am an auto mechanic because I have changed my own oil and done some of my own car servicing or I am a computer expert because I know some things about working on computers. I am neither.

Thanks Ox for your explanation I understand your point of view.

I tried to change the world, but god won't give me the source code, I tried to do it in Proton and failed.

I can't believe I'm going to reply to this, but Mike you have repeatedly ignored what a respected professional (who works for probably the most respected restoration company out there) has told you. Time and again you roll out the your way is best argument, and time and again you get shot down.

Hulk #181, ASM #129, Tec #400, Batman #232 and so on and so on... you never cease to amaze. And believe me if you think you're going to come back in a few months having nailed pressing you're kidding yourself. Did you ever send any of your 'work' in to Matt Nelson? Probably not. And for anybody who doesn't know PGXs track record of placing restored books into HG blue labels, it's not that hard to find.

I'm not going to mention your not charging people as you know what I think of that. And I won't be wasting another 5 minutes of my time posting about your dreadful work, and didn't one of the members of this forum have a bad experience with you? So that wouldn't be everybody happy now would it.

You never answered my question so why should I answer yours?

don't get me wrong here, I have nothing against anybody on this forum but i reed a couple of post from MasterCPU since I was interested on the subject and every time there seem to be someone to dis his progress and it always seem to be the 2 or 3 same members. how come??

You hit the nail on the head. It has been the focus of a select few to knock me down at every turn. They will hide behind excuses but actions speak louder than words. There was no reason to bring this topic to a negative and US,ox,boozad and blast from the past (has 10 post and all are about me) have done nothing but post negative stuff and it’s the same crap over and over again. They think if they keep it up I will stop but it only makes me try harder and post more. I wish they would get a life and leave me alone but since this seems to be their life I will just put them on ignore.

Once again MasterCPU proves himself incapable of basic reading comprehension, any kind of feedback that does not consist of 'wow man, that's great' and tries to defend his view that he's being ganged up on. Grow up. Get a life. Stop being a douche and people won't treat you like one.

I really tried to not be negative in my last post and just lay out the facts. You obviously don't get it and probably never will. Good luck.
