Well I have taken the plunge and started my King Comics collection with a purchase from the Flash Gordon series in an affordable FN grade.

Earl.

I have 2 King comics (Popeye 86 and Blondie 165)

2Etta Kett1948194911 to 12

This title is not a King comic, only licensed from them.  Better/Standard got a King License in late 1947 starting with the King titles Alley Oop and Captain Easy (numbering starting with 10).  In 1948 they added the following King titles Ozark Ike, Tim Tyler Cowboy, Etta Kett, Little Miss Muffet and Tommy of the Big Top(all starting with 11).  Jungle Jim and Jiggs and Maggie both started in 1949 (also with 11).

The confusion about 11 and 12 for Etta Kett comes from Better/Nedor switching all their titles to the Standard imprint(?) in the summer of 1949. So that while Etta Kett 13 and 14 say Standard, 11 and 12 do not show any publisher info on the cover but all these titles were released by the same company.

The Johnny Hazard title Earl didn't see for King, was published by Standard as 5 - 8 with the change in company label occurring between 7 and 8.
