Icebreaka (9/4/2009)
I try to grade as accurately as I can based on the knowledge I have. I'd say I'm anal in the sense that every book I own I have graded with my membership here and that's about 6000 books. On the other hand with my new comics each week I rarely spend more than 30 seconds assessing what grade to give a book. If I get something silver age off of Ebay though I'll spend a couple minutes thinking about it before assigning a grade.

Now I'm sure I've both overgraded and undergraded in my collection, that doesn't bother me. And I think it really is up to the owner to decide whether to grade and how strict to grade. However if you do go to sell books you really have to grade on the side of caution really to prevent problems.

Your description Icebreaka is much like how I grade.
