What are your comic collecting goals? I have heard many different ones. To have all releases of a certain character, complete runs, and someone is even collecting every marvel issue since their birth month in the early 70's. Just curious if you guys had any unique collecting goals.

I'm currently collecting Amazing Spider-man and i'm trying to grab every issue from 100 and up.

I'm also into the Villains so i'm after key appearance of the Absorbing Man, the Wrecker, Firelord, and Abomination.

I'm also trying to collect every issue of the incredible Hulk as well as all Marvel McFarlane issues.

I'm coming for you Fantastic Four #48!!!

1st - Collect first S/A appearances of charter members of JLA and the first issue of the character's own S/A book.  Almost there.

2nd - do the same for the Avengers.  Not event close to being compete.

3rd - Collect all #1 (or first continuation issue) key Marvel S/A book.  Amost done.

Complete my run of all Marvel bronze age horror (re-print) titles. I'm down to about 7 or so, only to find out that some of the non-horror/moster stuff that replaced some of those titles still had reprints in the back.

My current goal is a complete run of Green Lantern Volume 2 (1960-1989). I've got quite a few so far, mostly bronze age, lowest numbered issue I have is #46. After I complete Volume 2 I'll start on Volume 3 before moving to Volume 4. By that time they'll probably have already started Volume 5.

Completing sets of superhero comics (GA, SA) up to 1974. Daredevil, Silver Surfer, Fantastic Four, X-Men, Doctor Strange, Thor, Avengers (bloody valueless preoccupation imo), and carrying on with my utterly pointless attempt to complete several Image sets, specifically Wild C.A.T.S, Youngblood and Prophet. I think every collector (particularly those of us who love to grade on an amateur level) daydream about the day when we'll be sitting in the lobby of the Intercontinental New York, discussing trades for early issues of Action Comics with other equally obsessed professionals, but for now hunting for issues that I'm happy simply to own is enough for me. Speaking of which, Daredevil 6/7 just fell into my lap (last yellow costume/1st red costume).

EDIT - I'm ecstatic.
