Howdy , all --

I've been in the group for a while, mostly lurking... I'm one of those people who collected in the 70's and just recently started getting into it again; most of my collecting activity so far has been buying books haphazardly from bargain bins, trying to figure out what I actually like these days. (Plus the occasional cherry-picking on EBay, when I can squeeze out a decent Golden or Silver book for cheap.)

One thing I haven't seen much of here in the forums is discussion of the contents of books; people talk about the mechanics of collecting, but it's very seldom that people talk about what they like, or what's in the books they've read. With that in mind, I'm going to post a list of comics I've bought in the last month or so, organized by how well I liked them. Maybe we can get some discussion going. Comments, flames, etc, all welcome.

Another thing I've done is to start a blog dedicated to reviewing comics as I read them. That page is starting to bulk up a little bit, so I reckon I'm ready to go public with it; I'll be proud n happy if any of y'all go to check it out. (Proud n happy, or... indifferent, or...) At first I didn't think there were more than 2 or 3 sites online that did that kind of writing about comics; since then I've found more, but I've already started, so **** **.

Hi great to see you posting

Good point about discussion of storylines and such. We used to have great discussions about storylines, continuity and the like back in 2003 and 2004. I remember the great threads we had about the Hush storyline as it was running in Batman at the time. It all seemed to peter out after Marvel's Civil War, not sure why.

Earl.

I just discovered I hadn't enabled the mechanism that allowed readers to post comments at the blog. I've fixed that, so if anybody visited and was frustrated before, I'd be happy to see you there again.

Recently written about:

Animal Man
Books Of Faerie: Molly's Story
The Brotherhood
Concrete
Uptight
Wahoo Morris
Xenobrood
Young Justice
Zombie World

I'm trying to slow down on the buying, though, limiting myself to one a day; last batch was:

Destiny #1 (Vertigo)
Extremist 3,4
Girl Who Would Be Death #1 (Vertigo, so goth you could die)
Gravel #0
Namor Annual #3
Nowhere #5 (autobio girl indie)
The Programme #10
Wolff & Byrd Supernatural Law #16
X-Factor: Prisoner Of Love (Starlin script)

and a fairly nice (F-) (Wild Bill Pecos) The Westerner #40, offa ebay for 2.99 postpaid.
