Obviously I know CPG is a good place and eBay. But what other sites do you guys use
to figure out what a book is worth? I have the Overstreet guide but it feels dated whenever
I compare the prices to eBay or CPG. I'v been collecting heavily in older books (between late 60 and early80s) for the past 5yrs now and really want to start finding out how much the collection is worth.
Thanks for any help you can give me.

Hey Earl.
Sometimes do you agree that My Comic Shop sometimes over prices books like Amazing Spider-man 229?

| mycomicshop and milehigh sell books for what the market will bear...somewhere someone is willing to pay those prices...or they wouldn't keep them at those prices...after all, neither place is trying to hang on to the books, just get the most money they can for them... Fortunately, some of us are clever enough to look around a bit and find the best price before we part with our hard earned sheckles...and every once in a while...even those guys have the best price under the circumstances... ...once you take into consideration time and effort to hunt some things down (Is it really worth it to spend additional time to find the $1 copy when there is a $2 copy available?)...

True, BUT my reference was towards books they sell that are WAY over price. Example, their Amazing Spider-Man books are over priced.
Like...
Amazing Spider-Man 300 for 264.00 (Item number: 310162636919)
Amazing Spider-Man 298 for 124.00 (Item number: 150366643820)
Amazing Spider-man 230 for 48.00 (Item number: 130325527482)
Amazing Spider-Man 316 39.00 (Item number: 130325527482)
Now are they over priced or is the guide under priced?
I'm coming for you Fantastic Four #48!!!

| Both and neither. Check against mycomicshops want section. If those issues are listed there currently, they aren't having difficulty selling them at those prices as they want more. Keep in mind that a lot of people trade in worthless moderns for credit, so may not be averse to paying a bit more for a more desirable book in that circumstance.

I really believe that MILEHIGH puts up those prices for a very strong reason, viewers will think they are getting a great bargain when they get it for a quarter of the price shown crossed out.
