I'm working on an Eclipse Comic checklist, but it's nowhere near complete. I can honestly say it's the most convoluted and annoying checklist I've made so far.
There are several topics that I feel are worthy of discussion:
1) Eclipse Graphic Album Series (1978-1992)! Here is what I have so far, and I'm still researching it and adding to it.... Errors most likely exist!
1, 2 (SC, Night Music), 3 (SC, Same as Detectives, Inc), 4, 5 (same as Price, The), 6 (same as I Am Coyote), 7, 8 (same as Zorro In Old California), 9, 10, 11 (same as Floyd Farland - Citizen Of The Future), 12, 13 (same as Sisterhood of Steel, The), 14, 15, 16 (Air Fighters Classics), 17, 18 (Air Fighters Classics),19, 20 (Air Fighters Classics), 21, 22 (Alien Worlds Anthology), 23 (Air Fighters Classics), 24 (same as Heartbreak Comics), 25 (same as Alex Toth's Zorro Book 1, SC), 25A (same as Alex Toth's Zorro Book 1, HC), 26 (same as Alex Toth's Zorro Book 2, SC), 26A (same as Alex Toth's Zorro Book 2, HC), 27 (Fast Fiction: She) , 28 (same as Miracleman: A Dream of Flying), 29, 30 (SC, same as Brought to Light), 30A (HC, same as Brought to Light), 31 (SC, Pigeons From Hell), 31A (HC, Signed and Numbered, Pigeons From Hell), 32, 33, 34 (Air Fighters Classics), 35, 36 (SC, Dr. Watchstop: Adventures in Time and Space), 36A (HC, Signed and Numbered, Dr. Watchstop: Adventures in Time and Space), 37, 38
This series is tough, because most apparently aren't numbered as being part of the series. It's also tough to confirm whether they have hardcovers, hardcover sets, hardcover sets with bonus items, whether they are signed, and whether they are listed online as stand alone publications. My checklists will have hyperlink pointers for each stand alone title and it'll point to this series. I've read that the ads in the Eclipse books actually number them as part of the series, so it would help if someone could dig up a later ad for these and scan it so there is a definitive reference for everyone to look at.
2) 2D versions of the 3D titles - An older collector in town tells me that 2D versions were made of the 3D comics that Eclipse published. I've seen the 2D comics listed, but the collector told me they were made in very limited quantities and you had to mail away for them. He says they were made for people who were 3D impaired and couldn't read the 3D version. He thought only 500 of each were made, but obviously without a confirmed number, that is just speculation. Also, with the flood Eclipse experienced, there could be a lot less than 500.
3) Hardcovers in general. Even if they aren't part of the Eclipse Graphic Album Series, is the old Eclipse listing accurate and complete? I don't think it is and it doesn't appear to be listed by the indicia tile.
On a side note, I list "James Bond 007: Licence to Kill (1989)" under "J". It doesn't truly have an indicia and I think the section that looks like an indicia isn't really one. Also, the spelling must be based on some wacky British spelling. I think CPG has it wrong in the guide because they spell it the way you'd think it should be spelled.
I assume you know of cat yronwode's listing...
