So its over. I still don't know how I feel about the ending, probably gonna have to reread the entire series to get a better perspective.

When Civil War ended, things had changed.
World War Hulk ended, and Marvel just moved on.
Secret Invasion ended, and Dark Reign has seriously changed things.

My question is, is this an event that matters or will Marvel just move on?
Somehow I suspect move on.

Just read issue 6 last night and I am not sure what to think. I really didn't get Black Bolts plan to mutate the universe as a plan for peace. It was too ridiculous to give credit to so it kind of took me out of the series a little. I'm glad that was stopped at least. I like the character of Black Bolt though and I was almost cheering when he fried . Vulcan though is clearly ridiculously over powered and can regenerate himself as well as Wolverine apparently. That means he won't be dying any time soon. Too bad

I think the ending makes it hard to keep Black Bolt alive but he's too big a character to get killed off. The preview page on the end seemed to show them still battling so I'm guessing they'll milk this a little more. All in all I mostly enjoyed the series. The art was great and it focused on lots of characters like Ronin who you don't see much of. Liliandra seems to really have been killed off though, the Shi'ar have been taking a beating in it. The casualties in this series are way beyond any other limited I've ever seen heh.

Vulcan is crazy overpowered. He takes the time mid fight to taunt about his omega level status. To be an omega, you must have among other things, the ability to exist without your body, and reform a new body as needed. Omega level mutants are damn hard to kill, so Vulcan becomes unbalancing in this story.

As for Black Bolt, the plan seems way out of character. But it doesn't really matter because it doesn't come to pass.

I agree the art really was great. Very visceral. One character who was portrayed very well was Gladiator. This character to me should be changed forever after the events here. I don't know if these changes will stick but the art made me feel the emotions the character was wrestling with.

The one thing I was hoping for doesn't look likely at the end of the story. I really wanted Havok and Polaris to go back to Earth. I would love to read Vulcan vs Havok if the story would go anywhere, but it really isn't. So if we can't get some resolution, move on its getting stale.

Totally agree with the Gladiator and Havok/Polaris comments. He looks to be the new Shi'ar leader and he's earned it. They are all but down out there and should come back and join the team for a bit. They've been offworld for like 3 years of our time now.

The Gladiator plot thread is interesting, but I asked myself, would I buy a Gladiator mini or monthly? I don't think I would. If it was a mini Marvel would price it at 3.99, and I would pass. If it was a monthly it would be another book I would get caught up in that gets canceled before the story is told.
