Marvel is bragging about releasing covers that combine foil and hologram. Didn't we go through this crap once? If memory serves, it was awful.

I think Marvel are just getting desperate.  Sales are on a continous slide and they are running out of ideas on how to raise interest in comics.

Too bad they haven't tried intelligent stories with professional art...

It was just before I joined the Army that the foil covers started coming out (like Silver Surfer #50, which I thought was alright)... but thankfully I stopped collecting before the hologram ones came out... they looked lame. (I have a few now, for collecting purposes.) Honestly, Shadows right... you don't have to resort to this sort of crap if the writers and artists are good.

.
I wont lie, shinedown's version is good, but Lynyrd Skynyrd's is what Jesus, Chuck Norris, Chesty Puller, Ronald Reagan, and my Father listen to every morning when they wake up. -'bobthebanshee' on Skynard's 'Simple Man' (an all-time favorite)

Ultimately if it does nothing for sales it'll fade. There are people who love a gimick though and will buy em up. I think Marvel are an easy target to mock as they are the top dog. They do have some great writers and artists in their stable but for some reason those ones aren't always on the top selling books.

I've heard that these covers will be REALLY hard to score,

Maybe they'll keep some value this time.
